The magician offers his spectators some pistachios, inviting them to eat them with him. Now the magician takes one and places it on top of an upside-down glass. Under the watchful gaze of the audience the magic happens. The magician passes his hand next to the glass, and the pistachio that was resting on the bottom of the upside-down glass falls inside it without anyone touching the glass.

The magician displays a small box containing a pair of scissors. He places his finger through the tube in the center of the box, and cuts it in half with the scissors. But hold on to your hats: the magician then lifts the tube to show that the finger is really cut in half! The magician may use a pencil or pen borrowed from the spectator instead of his finger.
