A fresh, visual take on the classic Jumping Gems built around a simple, recognizable object: a hand mirror.
"Mirror Paddle" by Jeki Yoo takes a timeless plot and elevates it into a polished, visual showpiece filled with moments that feel truly impossible.
Here's what a routine looks like:
You begin by showing an ordinary, everyday hand mirror. With a gentle wipe of the mirror across the handle, a single diamond visually appears. Turn the paddle over to prove the other side is empty. Another wipe, and a second diamond materializes. Now, there's one on each side.
The routine continues to build. With a simple thumb wipe, the diamonds jump from side to side, multiplying until four gems appear, perfectly placed at each end of the paddle. The visuals escalate as the mirror is introduced again. The diamonds appear to slide, merge, and rearrange in full view.
For the finale, one of the diamonds visibly rises out of its own reflection before snapping back into place, an impossible moment that hits hard and stays with your audience.
Everything happens openly, with no weird or suspicious moves, and at the end, both the paddle and mirror can be handed out for inspection.
Mirror Paddle is easy to perform, highly visual, and perfect for both close-up and table hopping, and because the moments are so visually striking, it's great for social media too. Oh my!
